Sing Her Name

Presented by The Dream Unfinished, Sing Her Name is an  orchestral and choral concert whose purpose is to amplify the voices of women involved in the #BlackLivesMatter movement. #SingHerName will be held on July 13, 2016, to mark the one-year anniversary of Sandra Bland's passing. The concert will feature a community choir of cis and transgender women, who will perform music by composers such as Florence Price and Ethel Smyth, to be accompanied by The Dream Unfinished orchestra. The concert will also include the world premiere of a new work by composer Courtney Bryan. Proceeds from the concert will go towards Black Women's Blueprint as well as the Center for Constitutional Rights. In addition to musical selections, #SingHerName will include appearances by notable figures such as Terrance McKnight, Gina Belafonte, and others.
