Frederica Stines

Deputy Chief Of Staff, McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research

Frederica is a dedicated social justice advocate, especially on issues related to women’s and girls’ health and rights. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff at the McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research, where she works closely with the executive team to carry out the Institute’s overall operations, finance, and grants management. Prior to joining McSilver in 2017, Frederica served as the Assistant Executive Director at Black Women’s Blueprint (BWB) where she provided oversight for programs and special events aimed at ending sexual violence against Black women and girls. From 2010 to 2014 Frederica served as a Program Officer at the International Women’s Health Coalition where she managed the Africa grants portfolio supporting activists and grassroots organizations working to advance the sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and women in Nigeria, Cameroon and Kenya.

Frederica’s experience includes serving as a research consultant with the United Nations Volunteers in Geneva, where she evaluated HIV/AIDS programs, and coordinating public relations and special events for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. In 2009, she co-founded the Timoun Lakay Foundation, which supports health and educational programs for disadvantaged children in Haiti and in 2011, she joined the Haitian Roundtable where she currently serves as a Board Member and Co-Chair of the Program Committee. In addition to her board service at The Dream Unfinished, she is an advisory member of the Haiti Adolescent Girls Network.

Frederica holds an M.A. in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute for International Studies at Monterey and a BA from SUNY Plattsburgh.
