Jordan Carter

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Jordan W. Carter is an arts administrator, musician, and educator. His experience spans youth development, community engagement, and arts operations across leading cultural institutions, including the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, Harlem Stage, The New School College of Performing Arts, José Limón Dance Company, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), where he supported creative placemaking and community-centered initiatives.
Jordan is also the founder of Harlem Percussion Academy, an intergenerational percussion studio dedicated to accessible, culturally relevant music education. A trained percussionist, DJ, and teaching artist, he brings an artist-centered and equity-driven approach to his work in fundraising, communications, and organizational strategy. Currently, he is the Manager of Public Programs at the Urban Civil Rights Museum. He holds an M.A. in Arts Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Bachelor of Music from Boston University.
